On Tuesday night, the various Northwest orchestras put on a concert, playing a selection of songs including “Round Dance”, “Brook Green Suite”, and “An American Folk Symphony”. Also in the show was the Extreme Strings, a group of fifth and sixth graders who are part of the honors strings programs at Benninghoven and Ray Marsh Elementary Schools. The Extreme Strings performed the selections “Dragon Hunter” and “Fiddles on Fire” and were accompanied by a few high schoolers who helped them practice the songs. It was the first time the conductor, Jeffrey Bishop, got to have the Extreme Strings play under him.
