Correction, SM schools don’t abide by the same rules as Olathe and Blue Valley schools. After all, it is two to one in favor of a more lenient system of punishment. Asides from that “zero tolerance” is “zero tolerance…. with some exceptions…”. Don’t kid yourself, there are “certain cases”.

What the school board is trying to tell you with “zero tolerance” is simple, if you screw up once, just once, you are done. No and, if’s, or but’s about it and absolutely no second chance, unless of course you’re a “certain case”. In the end it’s the school boards decision, they do as they please. “But no one’s perfect,” you might say. In the eyes of SMSD, you’d better be.
